20.Jun.2009 Dancing Butterfly

Afternoon tea is one of the greatest pleasures of the day.  It affords the opportunity, the necessity, for pause.  I do not work or read or engage in anything that might be misconstrued as productive while drinking my cup of tea.  I merely pause to breathe the steam and perhaps notice some small thing in my environment that had, until that moment, escaped my attention.  Today it was a tiny caterpillar on my windowsill wandering past a suspecting spider and meeting an unexpected demise.  The tea was a tuocha called Dancing Butterfly.  Till the very end it gave no hint of bitterness.  ★
